Re: Strange surface after curing
Since elemental oxygen inhibits the curing of the resin (see the CLIP printer for this fact in practical application), the principle is that by curing the resin under water or other clear UV passing medium, you get a quicker surface cure than in air. The white coating in my experience comes from an ...

Re: Projector
Can you disconnect from the PC and try to project onto the wall like the menu from the projector? See if it is in the projector or it is the PC side that is fouled up?

Re: Important: Stirring and Shaking the Resin Bottles
B9 did put a date code on the older round bottles so you had an idea of when that batch of resin was put together.
I have some yellow in the new jug style bottle that I will need to look closer at because I do not remember a date on that one.

Re: Success curing and casting Emerald green resin
Nice casting! I assume that is out of the pickle or is that straight from deflasking? At what point do you remove the rubber base? After the recommended two hour green strength time and then go for six more hours? I will have to try to skip the 300F step, since I assume that is to help remove the re...

Are all the spots you see elements of the print you were doing or is it miscellaneous junk?
Maybe it is video RAM corruption or something that got corrupted in the Contour software memory during operation?

Re: Important: Stirring and Shaking the Resin Bottles
You are right Emil about needing to scrape that settled solid material and helping it get back into the mixture. It is surprising how much of that solidifies down at the bottom of the bottle. When I saw this shaker, I was like YES! I can finally bust out the reciprocating saw that has been collectin...

I'm starting to think you guys should sell a laptop as part of your printer package to help make life easier.

Re: Important: Stirring and Shaking the Resin Bottles
You need a pretty heavy duty magnetic stirrer to mix B9 cherry. The ones I use with my plating setup could not keep up with the viscosity of the resin. I am thinking one of these could work. ;-) https://www.amazon.com/MixKwik-MT16-Tool/dp/B0055S7DJS http://mixkwik.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Home...

Re: Emerald Resin to Metal Conversion Chart, Specifically Sterling Silver
Like Jewlermdt said, it is all about getting to the wax equivalent. Some data on B9 forum put the SG of the cured resin about 1.1, so I weigh out the tree which is a hybrid of wax and resin, divide that by 1.1 and then multiply by 10.33 (specific gravity of sterling, give or take). That gets me pret...

Re: print failure
If you print that again, same settings, do you get the same output or does it vary with each print? From previous 3D printing experience, I'd blame it on damaged film or inconsistent luminosity across the exposure area. - clean optics and light path well (no smears, hair (human or animal), etc.) - i...
