Re: projector question
I understand your concerns, manakawari but since the Vivitek is an official option, I wouldn't worry. The projector is pretty much a "set it and forget it" piece of the setup in my experience. Also, the support I've received from Mark and Emil has been top notch in every way. If you have a...

Re: Best way to support something like this
Monger's solution worked. What software do you use to make those supports?
One of the prints pulled up on the base but it seems usable still. I printed 2 just in case anyway. What causes this?
In the future, I'll probably use the thin band method as it seems easier, lol.

Re: Best way to support something like this
Thanks, Monger.
I will give your solution a try and if it fails, I will go with Kerstien's.
Either way, I'll start posting pictures of my successes and failures. I'm nowhere near the level of most of you guys here but it may be of some help.

[SOLVED] Best way to support something like this
I have a two tone ring that I am making so I have to print out the two pieces separately. I really have no idea on how to support this piece. The PreForm software makes a jumbled mess that I'd never be able to clean up :-) Thanks in advance for any insight. I'm still hoping someday I'll be able to c...

Re: Spacer for film replacement
Thanks, monger. I did not take photos unfortunately. The prints start out fine, but then halfway through or so, randomly stop. This results in "chunks" taken out from the model. I thought it was maybe the model itself even though I ran it through netfabb, but it did it with another model t...

Re: Spacer for film replacement
Just realized this is in the wrong forum, sorry.
Can't figure out how to edit it so if a mod could move it, that'd be great

Spacer for film replacement
I've been having issues printing lately, incomplete grows mostly. I'm not 100% sure what the issue is yet, maybe supports, maybe something else. What I do know is that it's time to replace the film again. Watching the video, I noticed the 1mm spacer. I don't have one. Did I misplace it or is it some...

Re: One quality higher than B9 Cherry?
I've had excellent results with casting B9 cherry.
I use Plasticast and just before pouring, I vacuum the mold with a metal tipped Shop Vac.

Re: Broke my Solus :-(
KennyB; Is this the new Solus Resin we have been hearing about? Looks darker than the Cherry B9 I have been using? Toddmichael No, this is straight B9 Cherry. The photo was a from my cell phone, so probably not the best color representation. I will be out of the shop a few days but hopefully will h...

Re: Broke my Solus :-(
Printer is back up and running. I finally printed my first real piece for an actual customer, now just have to see if I can cast it :-) I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Emil (Monger) for all his help. If you ever find yourself in Maine, the beer and lobsters are on me even though lobsters are disgu...
