I had a colleague make an RTV mould and urethane cast from one of my Proto models as a trial and it turned out perfect.
I'm not sure of the details, but I guess it proves that your distortion is not normal - or at least avoidable.

Re: Auto Supports and Manual Supports now in Contour!
I believe AA is off.
I'd need to check though as I have not changed that for a while. I do know I have never set to high though.

Re: Auto Supports and Manual Supports now in Contour!
My machine crashes when doing slice previews on Contour 1.3 too. I haven't checked file size, but not very large. If I don't preview it works just fine. Another bug I've found is where I use two machines - one to develop files and one to print. If I do that with Contour supports the scene file does ...

Re: Potential Solus User questions
Hi Zac
You can follow my exploration of 28mm miniature printing here:

Overall, I'd say the Solus is a good option, but happy to have a PM exchange if you have any questions.

little people
figure.jpg The little fellow above is in Proto at 25/25 20Z. Only supports were to the chin, thumb and two fingers. Overall he's 30mm high to the fingertips. In the 'flesh' he looks much more detailed in the face than the photo shows. This was a trial, so he's not really dressed to be out in public...

Re: CW Crashed Mid Print! Help
A quick update on crashes: Crashes slowly got worse and worse. Updated to Contour and after initial success around 7 prints in a row crashed. Got onto Dell, and after a number of iterations and diagnostic sessions, they decided my SSD was faulty. After waiting a week for parts I'm up and running aga...

Re: What's wrong with these pictures?
Thanks Archem Will give the microwave a go. I've avoided it to date as the domestic authority takes a dim view! In terms of the casting this is in a large commercial flask on a significant tree. So while there is no 'button' per se, there is a large mass of metal serving that function. I don't have ...

Re: What's wrong with these pictures?
Hi Gary Yep you called it - M&W. These are cast in bronze by the way - forgot to add that to my original post. I talked to Grant George there who was quite willing, although ultimately not definitively helpful. They use UltraVest with the recommended burnout for that investment. I have yet to ch...

What's wrong with these pictures?
I offer the following disasters for learned comment from the group gurus. The following are cast from Emerald prints cured under UV overnight in water. Prior to curing they were given a quick isopropanol rinse followed by around 10 minutes ultrasound with detergent. 252525 prints. Prints were excell...

Re: resin vat cleaning?
I went away for over a month recently and left vats with both Emerald and Solus Proto in them over this period. Came back and gave them a stir and started printing. It's winter here, so things are cool, and I took care to protect from light, but otherwise nothing special. Just cleaned my vat by wipi...
