Re: Using DSLR UV Filter with the Projector for Movie
Just kinda curious, the projector is outputting some small amount of UV even with the factory filter in place. Are you more concerned about people stepping in front of the projector and taking a UV dose? I would think that the intensity of it would fall off with distance, so unless you put your face...

Re: Coat of Arm signet finished
The stippling looks like it was added after the fact. Very nice cast and excellent detail on the coat of arms!

Re: Solus Solidscape side by side
I think it is a case of the exposure and focus being dead on that you are seeing the pixel level artifacts from the slicer.
Maybe if you knock the focus out of whack a slight amount, that might smooth it out? Too tough to control that though.

Re: Post Curing
Based on the temperature ranges you described, it would seem to indicate there is probably water trapped inside the resin that boils off at the higher temperatures causing the cracks. You can try holding the oven at 200°F for like two hours and raise the temperature. If it really is trapped inside r...

I was going to ask about that. Is it like there is a slight layer shift at some periodic interval?

Re: Recommended Casting Set Up
What metals do you plan to use for your casting and how many pieces do you plan to cast at any given time?
Are you starting completely from scratch? Do you have a kiln/oven?

Re: Rinse Out Resin (ROR) ?????
I poured out my bottle into a painter's tray full of cat litter and exposed it all in the sunlight until it was cured and disposed it in a double-bag to the garbage.
What a waste of money that was. I hope Bucktown has decided to permanently shelve that formulation.

Re: Support structures in Rhino
I downloaded the RPTool about a month ago and loved it. Went to use it tonight and all I get unknown command. Was curious if anyone else has had this problem? Thanks That would seem to indicate that the plug-in is no longer registered or inactive in Rhino. You could try reinstalling it or look in t...

Re: Post Curing
I'd agree with Jewelermdt, I don't think you are holding it at 1350°F long enough. What size flask? The bigger the flask, the longer the hold times to properly saturate the investment. In an electric kiln using B9 Yellow and 2:1 Red/Cherry, I've been doing 300 - 1 hr, 700 - 2 hr, 1350 - 3 hr, cast t...

Re: Solus Solidscape side by side
Based on the finish, how much anti-aliasing do you have configured in CW? Solidscape must not have any since you can see those discrete step lines on the side of the shank, but the brushed look on the flat surfaces is interesting. Must be the way the printer jets the material during the passes? Or w...
