Re: Solus Contour Grid Adjustments
While I love my Solus and appreciate the knowledge in this forum, I have to say that the answers to basic questions like this as they apply to ALL recommended hardware should be incorporated into a single document/wiki or whatever. Specifically I have the Vivitek HD1188 - so what settings do I need ...

Re: first job...........
On my setup using SolusProto at 25/25/25 the recommended exposure is 1200 or 1400ms (from memory). A 0.5mm square wire printed at 0.65mm or thereabouts. - so a definite softening of detail. This is due to light leakage. The increase was constant over different wire sizes, so not calibration or focus...

Re: CW Crashed Mid Print! Help
Update...
Since upgrading to 8GB I have had no more CW crashes (except for the the one noted earlier, which is looking more and more like an anomaly). Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the tip Gary.

Re: hollow channel
I'm still midway through my optimisation but: Last night I got down to 600ms exposure, AA off and the projector on minimum brightness. Detail was good and dimensions spot on. Very crisp and very noticeably tighter in detail. BUT overhanging parts showed significant sag. For the channels it may be th...

Re: hollow channel
I'm having similar issues. Not that this is a problem for me exactly, more a case of tuning and optimisation. Small channels are not really the issue for me (it is more that close features can fuse) but it is obvious (under magnification) that parts are fat and voids are narrow. A 0.5mm wire is 0.65...

Re: Scale models
Thanks for the feedback. I use a third party caster. It's always referred to as brass, but in fact is a bronze alloy of some sort. The castings visible in the pictures show the material. Some use nickel silver, which i would like to try, but i don't have a supplier locally who provides this. Lawrence

Scale models
Hi Everyone For something completely different here are some of my first prints. These are 25/25 in SolusProto. Prints are uncured (uv box arrived today), and the poor fit to the boiler is due to insufficient supports (now fixed). The smokebox door is 14.5mm across and was printed flat at 12.5micron...

Hi Gary
Yes, 4GB. Upgrading the RAM was something I wondered about so good to hear that has a clear benefit.
