Explanation of 42XY vs 25XY
Here's a noobie question of the day: Why is 42xy lower resolution than 25xy? If I were to imagine DPI (dots per inch) wouldn't 42 dots have more resolution and detail than only 25 in the same inch? I'm probably over-thinking it. And I already tried google, trust me. All I get are things about linear...

Testing out a new resin - What's causing this?
Can anybody tell what would cause these weird anomalies while printing this stuff? It looks as if some parts of the ring are extruding down. I printed these on an angle but they came out PERFECT in Emerald green. I also dont have any specs on testing this resin. It was given to me to help R&D. I...

Broken window in Optoma projector
Has anyone ever seen this before? The little window between the lamp and (I'm guessing) the colorwheel is shattered.
Can I just remove this or do I need to find a replacement?
BTW, this little thing is real hard to get to.
Thanks!!

Re: Vulcanising temperature and proto resin?
Hi..has anyone used a 3D print made with Solus proto resin to make a vulcanized rubber mold. What effect did the temperature have on the 3D print. I want to get some parts spun cast in zinc and wonder if the 3D print from proto resin will hold up to the temperature and pressure? I was asking the sa...

Re: Introducing the SolusProto Resin!
I dont think an MSDS was included in my shipment as well. Can someone send me one to print out before our engineering department has a logistical heart attack?
Also, what's the heat deflection of this material? Can it withstand up to 500 degrees F?
Thanks!!

Re: Rings, X or Y?
That's interesting. I was always told to orient rings perpendicular to the tilt, not parallel. We have some Envisiontec Mini XLs here and we orient the rings longways in the Y direction. We were trained to do so because the tilt might cause "skew" by pulling against the ring. Orientation.j...

Re: Important: Stirring and Shaking the Resin Bottles
Old thread, I know. Just wanted to mention that I threw a couple of small 1/4" stainless steel bolts in the bottle of my B9 emerald. Every day I go in there and wiggle it around for a minute or so and the bolts roll around and keep the juice nice and agitated on the very bottom, where it matters.

Re: print falling off platform
Sure that's ok if you're printing thin items, jewelry, etc. It's a big tug-of-war for every layer so you need a roughed up surface on the build plate if some of your layers have LOTS of exposure space.

Heated aluminum vat
We want to start experimenting with a resin that requires a certain temperature to maintain viscosity. Does anyone have any ideas on if / how the aluminum vat can be heated?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: print falling off platform
I used a sand blaster to rough up the surface on my build plate. Nothing has pulled away from the build plate once. From there I lowered the exposure time on the first 3 layers because the adhesion on that satin surface is super strong.
