Hiccup Lines

Postby Cassio » Wed Jun 15, 2016 10:42 pm

I think these "hiccup" lines may be attributing to a few fails I've been getting every once in a while.

How should I go about fixing this? I've tried the 'up and down a 10-15 times with the z axis', a few times now and the problem is persisting.

The pieces that successfully grow have these lines in it, as well as the ones that fail. But the ones that fail are stopping at spots that get these hiccup lines.

Any advice?

Your film might be too tight. Try loosening it a bit but running your finger on the bottom of the tank along the inside edges and pressing gently. Don't do too much right away.

Then when putting the tank on, don't overtighten the two knobs.

Also try increasing the exposure a tiny bit (100-200 milliseconds) Might be that your layers are not sticking well to each other and are shifting.

Emil, thanks for the tips.

I stretched the film and loosened the knobs a little and the lines are almost completely gone!

About to grow an Eiffel Tower and see how it does with that.

Thanks,
Josh

You're welcome Josh. Yes, the film tension is very important. As you can see ;)
