Those things are on the list of things to do. Both a manual and a video that shows how the grid adjustment works.
Fortunately Contour is easy enough to use (that was the goal) that most things are self explanatory.
For the grid adjustment, the last two controls adjust coefficients and their function is largely based on the other values such as the center of the distortion (x,y).
A video will better illustrate this, and it's planned.
