Hah, the cured piece seems to have detached from the film and attached to the build instead. Looks like i don't have to clean the film now but i would like to know why this happened and what i could do to fix this.

You can try to change it.
go the resin profile settings, exposure, a new window opens, mine was set at 2.7 for 25 microns originally, I have tried 2.6 2.5 2.4 2.3

I am settling in at 2.5 for now with emerald resin. at 2.7 I would get partial prints as you showed. make sure you grid and focus are good.

Thank you for the advice, I will definitely try to change the exposure like you did since my last print was just at default emerald settings. I will let you know how it goes and post up some pictures. I would like to ask what type of projector you are using. Currently i am using the optoma hd37.

The problem i have doesnt seem to be related to the exposure time as i tried to print again. But it still failed in the same spot and came out similar to the print before. It looks like a hardware issue since it resulted the same failed area as before. We already replaced the new film for the vat so that shouldn't be the issue since two of the models came out fine and I was using the sent sample ring for testing so the model shouldn't have any problems. So i will check and see if each component doesn't have any issues. The failed sample ring on the far right is the old print from before.

Finally the prints started to come out but there are a few issues. I dont remember exactly which post it was but it said that i didnt have to clean the front quartz and lens too often and it made me think that it wasnt something we have to pay attention to. This caused me to only look at the top quartz and clean often. But after i cleaned the front quartz and lens it started to print the three sample rings even though it still has some problems. Any possible ideas what could've caused this problem? Are the crack and flake that appeared on the print related to something that is obstructing the projector light like a small smudge and possibly needs more cleaning? Also when i looked at the model more closely i noticed that there were more build lines than the prints before, possibly the vat tension changed?

The entire optical path need to be clean.

If you projector lens, front window, top window, bottom of the film are dirty, they will stop a portion of the light to reach the resin, thus can affect the prints.

You need to keep them clean.

Yeah, at least we have to clean them whenever we get a fail just in case but i worry about the build lines that is starting to show up even if its acceptable. How do i keep printing the same surface quality before the film is no longer usable?

Build lines usually have to do with with film tension. If the resin tank knobs are over-tightened.

I've no experience with printing in resin, as i use to print on plastic but a very good friend of mine do use to print on this kind of material. I've read along with big interest and will definitely recommend him to check this page.
