42xy

I have not printed successfully 42 xy only a few times have I been successful, although I have only tried one model, with slight variations for prototyping: it. I have tried rotating and tilting the model, moving it to different location, and even tried it on a new film. On the last time I added a ring just to see if I can get the ring to print. Plus went the print fails it is sticking to the film, which may it hard to remove. I can print the model at 25xy no problem standing up, but it takes 6 hours print. I have no problems really print at 25xy. The file is fine, new film.

I think you're better off tilting those a little. Also use thicker supports.

EddyF;

I don't recall the post, or whether Emil or Mark mention this, or exactly what they called it. But not to create a solid base like your ring that prints at 25. Something to do with thermal suction or something. Anyway, I would think to add some voided areas in the base. So the thermal thing doesn't have too much suction the film...

I am hoping after the first of the year, to do more with the 42 micron prints. Keep posting for inspiration for the rest of us.

It has been hit or miss for me also using the 42xy. Especially the band you printed. I tried one several times and had similar results. I believe the main problem was I had a very ruff texture on it. And even though I ran it through mesh fix tools, it had problem areas. Also had lettering inside of shank that would cause problems. Tilting the model 10 degrees has help with some of mine. Gave up on the band and milled it.

I'm surprised those really thin supports worked for you. Nice job!
