Failed prints. Pulling my hair out!

Postby ken3dcad » Wed Nov 15, 2017 6:34 pm

New bottle of well mixed emerald resin, new film tensioned properly, 760 hours on the projector lamp. Triple checked all settings of the projector and RGB full. I've tried 20 times to get a successful print from a ring and it fails every single time. The STL is good, the supports are good. I have tried orienting the model numerous ways and supporting numerous ways. The print fails every time about 3/4 the way into it.
I just took took the printer apart and cleaned all the glass and mirrors and trying a reprint now. I'm at my wits end here.
any other suggestions?

Ken,

Would help to see a photo of the failed print. That way we can offer better advice.

Also, how did you clean the mirror? We don't suggest cleaning the mirror with anything because it's easy to damage it. If there is dust on it, you can blow it off using compressed air (not canned air).

Cleaned glass and mirror with pec pad and iso. Also, I have tried slowing the exposure time from 2.7 to 2.9. and the tilt speed to 200 from 300.

Can you please send me your scene file to info@junction3d.com

When your print is finished, do you have a larger than normal gap on the left of the tilt plate? You can check by removing the resin tank and build plate, and running the home cycle. If the plate tilts up slightly, then there might be an issue with your tilt motor. If it doesn't tilt up, then it's good.

I'll check when this next attempt finishes. I'll also send the scene file.

Just pulled this one off. It for the most part printed, except for one prong at the very end. I'm still getting flashing and I think that is blocking some of the light during the print. Emil, I'll send my scend file via email. The quartz glass has no gap.

Try making your prongs rounded on the bottom also. Then support each prong. I find if I don't have that whole bottom of the prong supported like your model, I get some of that excess - flashing. You can sand off the bottom after curing.

Just a thought.
