Not Sure whats going on

Postby Messerbr » Tue Jul 03, 2018 1:45 pm

So I sent the printer in for the tilt motor and tilt plate upgrade last month so that should eliminate those parts as the source of my problem. I am not sure what I am doing wrong and what is causing my prints to shift around like this. I have ran the 'Turbo mode' and normal mode and they both do the same thing in the same spot. Film lays flat and im pretty sure it is installed correctly. What are your thoughts on this?

Can I see the ring from the side? Try printing without support on the head or fewer supports.

Here's the side image. I also tried using a different resin and the same thing happens with the SolusCast

Yes. I see way too many supports there. They might be pulling on the top part of the ring, because of resin shrinkage.

Ah. It seems like the support on the bottom of the ring may be too thin. Try putting thick supports on the bottom to keep the ring from moving.

Also position the ring in a way that the finger hole is facing towards the FRONT of the build plate.

Man, I'm always leary of a support near the shoulder or head of a ring that attaches all the way down to the floor. I know it's probably fine....but in my tiny walnut, it's not safe.
My methodology is that anything past the 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock positions I try to support elements of the ring back to the ring itself or onto my large inside 'Y' support. My thoughts are that 25mm or higher is too risky for islands to come together and meet perfectly.

For example, if you have a standard halo design with a 'surprise' bezel under there, supporting the lower side of that bezel all the way down to the floor will almost always result in a cracked bezel.

I made the base thicker and ran a couple prints. I think that was the issue as well as trying the 'Y' support. I seem to have another issue though...I think I need to tweak my settings for the SolusWax resin. Ran these at the default profile on 42xy 30z and they came out choppy in some areas? Emerald one was printed just before these.

Try increasing the exposure time a little.
