Failing quality without changing anything

Postby MargoArgo » Wed Aug 01, 2018 1:08 pm

Hey, maybe anybody knows what can be the cause here:

I've got my printer and it worked beautifully for 2 weeks, everything got printed without failing like magic. Then magic started fading away. Without changing anything, on the same saved scene, I now got not 10 out of 10 models, but first 8 out of 10, then 5 out of 10 and today it was only 2 good out of 10. Rest of the models didn't get printed further than supports. But everything worked before!

Checked Full RGB - works. Windows update didn't mess up with settings, I switched updates off. Resin profile is still right.

Can you post a picture showing what the failures looked like?

Use thicker support tips. 0.4 and up. On fine details can use 0.3.

That's how I do it, yes, 0.4-0.6 on thick parts, 0.3 on the rest

I notice your printer / vat are not very clean. If even a little amount of resin gets on the optical surfaces (quartz, front window, mirror, lenses, bottom of the film) it can block a lot of light. They would need to be cleaned multiple times using microfiber cloth and alcohol or zeiss optical wipes in order to get rid of the residue.

Thank you, I'll make sure to clean everything and then will try again

If your film sticks to the quartz, it's not clean. Keep wiping with alcohol and soft cloth. Make sure the lens on projector and the front glass on printer is the same way. Double check your computer settings. Did you have a Windows update? It can change your settings.
