Round Disks Print Oval

Postby Dust2dust » Mon Feb 11, 2019 7:04 am

I’m having trouble with disk designs printing elongated and coming out oval. I spent some time searching on the forum for answers and tried several suggestions, but am still having the same issues. I made sure the projector legs were screwed down completely, checked that the counter it sits on is level, recalibrated the grid, added more supports to my model, oriented my model side to side and front to back, printed the model tilted and vertically… what did I miss? The disk I’m printing turns out less than 1mm longer than wide, which isn’t much, but is totally noticeable in a design that is only 10mm in size. The sample print I ordered printed on the Solus of this same design turned out perfect, so I know the printer is capable of what I’m expecting. What am I missing? What have I not tried?

If you have checked everything, you can use the Scaling Compensation to adjust this. It's under File, Setup.

Thanks, I will give that a go! Is there a tutorial on how to compensate for the stretch I'm seeing or is it a trial and error thing of lowering the numbers one at a time? Any idea what causes this in the first place?

Print a 10mmx10mm cube. Then measure it. Enter the values you're getting on the bottom row. The Z can stay 10.

That seemed to have solved the issue, no more ovals shaped circles! Thanks!
