Its using a hybrid mix but we are going to use a fresh batch of emerald for the next print. Dont worry about that last post since we had problems with that vat, it was just to show my current situation.

Are you using the emerald settings? You should.

Yes, i was using the emerald settings but i will restart with a fresh batch of emerald and a new vat so that doesn't matter now. I will follow the film installment video step by step and will start from there.

Solus Day 1: Replacing the film using video

In the video for replacing the film, at 54 sec it said "Do not tighten them" but at 1:10 the film looks like its already tightened and the film bulge. Also between the top vat and the bottom plate, in the video there doesn't seem to be a gap but when we tighten the thumbscrews there is still a gap even before we added the thumbscrews. Am i missing something? I wait for some help and would appreciate some explanation about this before i go on to the next step.

You gotta tighten the 6 screws when the tank is sitting like that. This will tension the film. Then remove the bat and put the back 2. Then go around and make sure they are tight. I don't think the video can be any clearer on how to do this.

Thank you, I will tighten the thumb screw first and then screw in the 4 side and 2 front screws. When i barely tighten the thumb screws is it normal for the thumb screws to slowly loosen, does this commonly happen? Anyway in the video the positioning of the left thumb screw at the 11 o'clock and the right side thumb screw is at the 2 o'clock position. My left thumb screw is 12 and my right is 1. I understand that each Vat and machine are different but just want to make sure about this. After finishing installing the new film and screwing it onto the machine the side and edge has more of a gap than the middle between the vat and the printer.

If you say you tightened the 6 screws down and you still have a gap between the black acrylic part of the tank and the bottom metal plate of the tank, then your rubber gasket might have slipped out and is pinned in between. You need to remove the tank, disassemble it, and push the gasket back into the slot.

I had that happen before I reduced the exposure time.
Have you tried reducing the exposure time?
Are you using the latest contour software?

Solus Day 2

I think I must've made it confusing for you but after i screw in the side and front screws there was no gap but only a slight gap between the vat and the printer. But there is a difference from the middle to the side gap.
Okay, I left my vat overnight on the printer without touching and adding resin but I screwed in the thumb screws the same position as i first installed it in. Today I poured in fresh batch of emerald resin in the vat and sanded the build plate some. I measured each corner of the build plate after sanding and got 15.02 mm to 15.03 mm. I then re-calibrated the build plate using a thin paper. Using contour software and the 25xy default emerald setting I ran the machine but the right sample ring did not fully print out. Also my original thumb screw position changed as it loosened from left side 12 o'clock to 10 o'clock and right side from 1 o'clock to 11 o'clock. When you say you barely tighten the thumb screws does it move after a print from the original position? Also i would like to know what could've caused this to fail printing.
