Print bends

Postby Huebee » Fri Dec 09, 2016 10:10 am

Hi there,
in the pic below you can see, that the model bends but is supposed to be flat. I printed it horizontaly. After removing the supports it immediatly bends. Any ideas, what could be the proplem ?

I would grow that flat to the build table and turn up my settle time to 10 seconds... That's just me

Huebee

Cure the model when it's on the print plate.
Flat on the plate or with support, it will help.

This pendant was printed and cured while on the plate.

I also have a b9 which of course uses the same resin, even the calibration prints which are a flat sheet bend once removed from the build table.
My solution for flat objects is to turn on the mill which still gets some use now and then. In my personal opinion some things are best milled, of course I prefer printing when ever possible.

Perhaps it is possible to print a thin flat and keep it flat, for me it is easier to mill it.

You are right on.
For thin flat models you get better/crisp details with a mill.

With the Solus printer, the details are "WAY UP THERE", close to milling.
Like you, I now use my mill now and then.

Thank´s guys for all your ideas.
I did print the model again, kept it on the buildplate and put it into the B9 Curingstation. Unfortunatly without success. There is no improvement, so the print still bends the same way.

maybe add a Vain/ridge to the back for better support and then grind it off before casting. I have done this for thin items.

Try printing it with the b9 red
