Has anyone ever seen this before? The little window between the lamp and (I'm guessing) the colorwheel is shattered.
Can I just remove this or do I need to find a replacement?
BTW, this little thing is real hard to get to.
Thanks!!

Hi Emil,
I have the same problem with broken Optoma HD37 projector glass. Could you please let me know what is the part name to order and whether it is easy to replace ourselves?
Thank You

Hi Kent,
No, it's not user replaceable. You will need to contact Optoma and send it in for repair. Don't forget to put uv filter back when sending it in.
Make sure your projector has good airflow and that it doesn't get hot. It's important to put the projector fan on high.

Re: Broken window in Optoma projector
Heat. Need good airflow around the projector. If people put it next to a wall and heat gets trapped in the area then it gets sucked back on by the intake fan.
Although it's not a very common issue.

Re: Broken window in Optoma projector
Hey everyone. I had this exact thing happen in our HD37 last fall. In our case, our high altitude setting was set to OFF, and so the projector got too hot and shattered that glass filter. It would seem like it wouldn't be a big deal but we never got good reliable prints beyond that point.
I contacted Optoma's support and they said the projector would need a new Optical Engine Module Assembly (whatever that is). It's about $600 to replace it, but fortunately our projector was still under warranty. Hope this helps!

Re: Broken window in Optoma projector
These projectors are designed to be used in open spaces. Table top with lots of room around or hanging from a ceiling. If you put the projector close to a wall, the heat from the exhaust will get trapped and then sucked back into the projector by the intake fans.
High altitude mode is only for the Optoma HD37, which is just Fan Speed High on the other projectors. It helps greatly with the cooling and must be turned on.

Re: Broken window in Optoma projector
I'm doubling up here, but I saw another thread on this issue. Our glass filters are also broken on our Infocus projector. I only noticed this when I was swapping out the lightbulb.
I was told by the distributor here that he's also experienced this on one of his inFocus projectors, but he isn't noticing any printing issues with his. We haven't had a successful print the last 10 print attempts or so, and I'm inclined to think that the issues are related. Cheers.
