Advantage and disadvantage

I want to know the advantage and disadvantage of top down and bottom up 3d printer, Which one is most successful in print with less failure.

IMO

Top down use lots of resin. Which mean high resin cost.

I think one way they try to get around the large volume of resin for top down is by floating the resin on top of a liquid with a higher specific gravity.

One example I've seen on the web is to float it on top of glycerin.
