im having a problem with resin curing on film.

I have had my machine for almost 2 years now and It has worked flawlessly since day one. it still prints beautifully and after almost 200 prints I think I can count the amount of failed prints on one hand.

the thing is that because I usually only print a few prints a week, I usually remove the resin after im finished printing for the day.

recently I was given a job where I need to print 50 of the same small print so I have been attempting to just keep on printing while using the same tank of resin.

what seems to be happening is that after 2 or 3 runs, resin seems to be curing on the film inbetween prints. I try and cover the window as quickly as I notice the print is finished but I cant always be there the second its finished and what appears to be happening is that the projector, even after the printer is finished, emits some sort of low level ambient light that is curing the resin if the window is not covered instantly.

I usually catch the finished print fast enough to cover the window and clean off the very slight amount of curing that began on the film but I find that even if I catch it quick enough, the tiny amount of cured resin keeps building up after each print to the point where my resin is no longer able to print well after 3 or 4 prints so im needing to remove the resin and clean the tank every 4 prints. this is a pain in the ass so I was hoping someone could tell me what im doing wrong.

I'm assuming you're using the Proto resin?

You need to mix it really well in the bottle. Use a wooden stick, or throw in some nuts and bolts and then shake for a few minutes.

You can also try to lower the bottom exposure a little.

Should help.
