Hello to all !
it's my first post and I'm really interested to buy the solus printer .
I have a question , does a model need to be boolean unioned model to be printed with solus.
I'm asking because some of my models I cannot boolean union them for some reason (it's my problem I know) .
and I find that it would be much easier to print without boolean union .
thanks.
Eric.

Re: boolean union
No. You don't need to Boolean anything.

Re: boolean union
You just need to make sure the models are water tight. Many times if the model wont Boolean you might have a issue so double check the STL in Netfab for issues.
Re: boolean union
Thanks Archerm, I knew in order to make stl file it has to be booleaned , I have checked it but if a model has a lot of problems and netfab cannot fix everthing , looks like you can't print.
that is the bad part of it.
thanks again.

Hi erik,
Do you use netfabb basic or professional?
You are right that netfabb basic can't fix all files.
But the professional version of netfabb is more powerfull!
You can send me your file an i check this in the professional version.

To save your model to a STL file, your parts DO NOT have to be Boolean together. When it produces an STL life, it make one solid mesh of your model.
But if your parts have Naked Edges your will have a bad stl and it would not print well. So check each part as your go to make sure it a true solid. What program are you using to model with?

Re: boolean union
Thanks for your informative response Jewelmdt , I'll do that, and I use RhinoGold .

Re: boolean union
If you have the new version there might be some Mesh checker icons. There are also some Rhino commands that will check your models for structure support. I use matrix, so use to pushing icons to do the work.
Re: boolean union
I've always thought that RhinoGold is still doing a boolean union on the meshes and it can fail during mesh boolean (happened last night with some supports).
