scale adjustment not working as expected

Scale adjustment is giving me some unexpected results, so first I'll check and make sure the x y and z are correct
x is the long axis, from left to right
y is the short axis, from front to back
z is the vertical axis, from bottom to top

to my understanding, the way you use scale adjustment is you put into each box labeled actual scale the dimension you got. I did that but it didn't give me a 10mm box which is what I made, it got worse instead of better

I am trying to compensate for the shrinkage you see after you cure B9R-3 Green resin, so each stone fits.

First I made a ring that takes a 9x7 oval but ended up with a casting which takes a stone measuring 7.75 by 6.74, so X is way off. so I compensated for x and y and got the correct size but now the ring finger hole is quite oval. I never been faced with having to adjust the scale to compensate for shrinkage, should I be compensating with the ring design instead?

This is the way that Scale Adjustment works.

If there is shrinkage from the resin (and most castable resins do have shrinkage), the way you compensate for it is as follows. The emerald resin for example has about 3% of shrinkage on average. So to adjust for that you put 9.7 on the bottom boxes, and the software will scale everything up by 3% to compensate, automatically. For ring sizes, making them half a size larger helps.

If the shrinkage is not even, the first thing I would make sure is that the grid is properly calibrated. You can also plug in the actual values of a test print to adjust the scaling compensation. The original model measurements go on the top and the actual printed measurements go on the bottom.

How much on the average can you expect the emerald to shrink during the cure, is that part of the 3%?

Can you measure the degree of the cure according to ring size? In other words I will have measured the ring size before and after curing, and compared the two.

It's not like I'm am absolute beginner at this, even though my questions make me sound like one. I have three years experience working with an envisiontec mini4, just trying to get my mind around the solus so I can produce accurate castings for my employer, that is if I can figure out how to reliably produce castings free of residue also.

I think other users here can confirm that you can produce very accurate prints using the the Solus.

Yes, the 3% is part of shrinkage with the post cure.

I do 3% to allow for some shrinkage and polishing. Be sure to check your grid calibration and do not over,tighten the screws when you put the vat in. Barely any touch and pressure. My prints are at 100%, have not had a failed print in a long time. Casting is great with the prestige investment
