silicone rubber does not cure solus proto resin
I wonder if any of you had any experience when cold silicone rubber did not cure in some areas, I used solus proto resin to make mold.

Try spaying with deft or a lacquer it might be reacting with rubber . I have had this happen before with other objects.

Some silicones react with acrylate resins. Spraying or using a different brand of silicone, such as Castaldo pink, should help.

Re: silicone rubber does not cure solus proto resin
can anyone that has good results with any RTV molding of the proto resin provide links to what RTV was used or what procedure you did , I'm looking for anything , but a clear RTV would be best for me , Thanks

Dovydas
This has happed to me when I did not fully cure the model. If fully cured you should have no problem with any resin.
I now often make molds using castaldo Liqua fast ice. http://www.castaldo.com/english/product ... i/lfi.html
It is nice that you don't have to wait 24hour for the mold to cure.

Re: silicone rubber does not cure solus proto resin
Thank you Guys for a such a prompt reply.
Problem is that I bought 20kg hard rubber and 10kg of silicone rubber which I used to use before for general moulding from metal pieces. I think it would be a good Idea to mention that solus proto resin does react with silicones and it does not work with every silicone out there.
Model has been post cured, of course I haven't taken that much attention to the curing in comparison with castable resins. I will try to cure model the same way I cure emerald green, see if that will make any difference.
Will keep you posted.

Re: silicone rubber does not cure solus proto resin
Yes. I have used it with Proto resin, emerald, cherry, black, and others.
Make sure you don't see any wet spots on the model before curing as that may take longer to cure and cause the deformation
on the mold material.
Hope that helps you.
