Mark advises that the ability to display "full RGB" (ie 0-255 on all channels) is the critical factor.

The following information from Intel should therefore be useful in selecting a machine to drive your Solus. Of course memory capacity, processor speed etc will also need to be considered.

Full Range RGB is not available for previous generations of Intel® HD Graphics products, including 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with HD Graphics and earlier.

All of the later Intel® Graphics Drivers for 15.31 branch, and all of the 15.33 branch (including our latest released graphics driver 15.33.3345) include support for Full Range RGB. We have personally tested and verified that it functions properly with driver 3345 as well. "

Ok. We just ordered an extra notebook / laptop with an intel i3 Processor for our other Solus printer.

The Intel® Core™ i3-4005U Processor comes with Intel® HD graphics 4400, so the video driver can be set to run Full RGB.
This is good enough to dedicate to use with Solus Contour.
