A couple pics of a combination cap and clip for a pen. Nothing really detailed but the surfaces are really smooth very little clean up.
I did have a problem printing this model and these are the final pair. I found out that I had bad meshes and it was causing CW to hiccup.
I have decided it was because of all the changes I had to make to the model. Its actually three pieces in the 3dm file. There were changes in the diameter of the cap and also in the piece that connects the clip to the lip of the cap. I think that having to make more than a couple of changes led to bad geometry or a bad mesh in the stl file. I finally exported the file as an stl from Rhino to 3DCoat, which combines the layers and fixes the mesh and then exported that to CW for slicing and printing.

Looking Good. I will be having to get into practice of making "solid" models now. Course the mesh fixer in Martix is really good.

At first, I was was really anal about making sure everything was booleaned up and was running everything through 3dcoat , but with our projecion based printers, I don't think water tight models are critical. All we're doing is projecting images. Some of the other printers require watertight models, but the Solus doesn't. I can still be lazy! :D
Bad meshes are a different story.

I have more than a couple dozen prints off my machine. I havent booleaned any of them prior to printing either. This was the first model that gave me fits.

I agree with Ken. No need for watertight models or booleans. However the problem is that some cad software has trouble with the STL conversions if the models are not just right to begin with. So you get bad triangle meshes, open meshes and other nastiness. Luckily using netfabb to fix them is usually easy.

Use this online model repair service if you're having trouble with your meshes.

That's good to know. Just the other day I made a ring and the guy wanted the side stones between the shanks larger. I exploded the ring and deleted the old head, but this left "holes" in the model that patch could not fill. Course with milling all I had to do was put the new heads in.

Several people who have Matrix feel the mesh fixer is better that Rhinos. I know they showed the difference in pictures and the Matrix blended corners were very uniform, no crisis-crossing of vertices.

Some more of my parts.
A roll stop with a clients logo shield. and a nose cone for a ball point pen. I have printed a matching front section for a fountain pen nib and feed assembly but I have alreads cast it and need to clean it up a little before taking and posting picture.
