The fingernail curing boxes are usually only use 365nm bulbs. Unless you have the led versions.

This resin is optimized for 405nm light, so the best way to cure them is with led lights that output that kind of light. There are some nail units out there, like the melody suzy, that do that, however they all have very short timers. There are also chinese led flood lights, 50w ones work best, that can be used. The 365nm lights will work also however 2 hours is not nearly enough for curing under those, especially for something thick like that. I would suggest at least 4-5 hours.

Microwaving doesn't work for this resin. I suggest skipping that.

You can cure in water under uv lights and that can accelerate the curing process a bit. Before you do that, make sure the prints are very dry, or else a white residue might form on the surface, which is a reaction between the alcohol and water. The residue doesn't seem to affect the casting though.

The professional curing box looks like the best option but I'm curious about the effectiveness of natural sunlight. I noticed the SolusCast resin cures rapidly under direct sunlight.

Ah, I thought I read on one of your other posts that you could microwave it. Since that is ineffective, most likely the rough casting was simply from me not curing it long enough. About how long of a cure time is recommended for the 405nm uv?

For regular items I recommend 2 hours with the 405nm light (50w). For thicker pieces 3 hours should do.

The pieces should feel like hard plastic and not tacky at all.

Those strips don't have enough power to penetrate deep into the model. Not useful for castable resins. They are great for curing larger things.

I get the best cure with the curing boxes we sell, but something like this should work well too.

I have to disagree !
We using these strips from the beginning, for curing the emerald resin, and a lot other resins too.
The curing boxes are amazing, right, but with microwave and selfmade curing oven with these stripes works great !!

I see the problem in inclomplete burnout as i said at the beginning.
We tried a lot with different investments...

I / we cast 5 flasks every day, we started from the scratch.. made every mistake i think.. but now we cast without any problems. :)

I used the equivalent in my paint can curing unit. They work well but its a overnight cure. I still use it occasionally when I am not in a rush. I now use two of these in the 50watt version. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XK ... UTF8&psc=1 The 30s will work just fine. I can cure most pieces in 2hrs with these. MARK

Ben I still do microwave after curing. I havent tried the new soluscast yet but have some samples here to try. I hope I will get to them next week.

New casting with the SolusCast. Some parts came out great, some not so much. It also appears that me and our goldsmith weren't quite on the same page with the burnout schedule adjustments. Not sure if this schedule would cause adverse effects or if the resin was still not cured fully. (2-3 hours in 405nm UV)

Burnout Schedule used for this casting:
Investment: Plasticast
Ramp Speed: ~16F per minute

2hrs @ 300F
2hrs @ 725F
4hrs @ 1415F
1hr @ 1220F
1hr to casting temp
