This is a memorial charm for a client who had a granddaughter pass away. Text on the outside goes 320 degrees around it, with hand prints on one side and footprints on the other. 2mm thick 25mm in diameter. The lettering on the outside averages 1mm tall with average width of the cut ins being .25mm.

VERY NICE! You nailed it!!

I'm SURE it will have GREAT meaning to the owner. Sad memorial, bitter sweet. You made the sweet part....

Unfortunately we do a lot of things like this. Our owners brother is one of the morticians in our area and suggests things like this to his clients. This is the first we have tried to put text on the side of the piece. We also used to do these on our Revo CX, which now sits eerily quiet.

Hey there! I'm just curious, it doesn't look like you had any supports in the middle of the medalion, is that right? Did you have any sagging?

I'm trying to figure out the magic of proper supporting so I'm trying to glean as much as I can from everyone's successful prints!

There where only a few supports in the middle, and each one connects with a point of .30mm. To help prevent the sagging it is tilted at a 45 degree angle. Each of the letters that faced down had a support too, which helped. With this specific piece i choose not to put lots of supports on the middle to help with clean up. With my supports i remove them just after cleaning the piece with a scalpel.

I am still a fan of the straight emerald. Maybe someday i will be adventurous and mix it. If its not broke don't fix it. And mark my words, the alternative diamonds are on the rise.
