Another Cool one to show everyone. Tasked with making a Dragon head this time based on the sketch. Once the basic sketch design was made, I did expand on it some based on what we were going to be doing with it. Eventually the head will be attached to a leather cord for a bracelet piece so there is a hole drilled into the back of the head for that. Really fun to do and everything has turned out well so far. Still waiting on the finished piece.

Here's how the cast of the dragon and all the other parts for this project came out. Still needs clean-up obviously, but glad everything came out ok.

Finally got my hands on the finished product. Didn't have too much time with it since the client was eager to pick it up but I was able to snap a couple of pictures. Still amazes me what projects the Solus printer can pull off!

Grow:
I would say the two are pretty similar in terms of the amount of detail you get out of them. I'd give a little edge to the SolusWax on detail, but both are very close to me. I would say the grow time is longer on the Solus Wax vs the B9 Green due to having to the increased exposure time. One advantage the B9 resin has over the SolusWax is the ability to use finer supports. I find the smallest support I can get away with on the Soluswax is about 0.4mm vs about 0.2mm on the b9 green. This hasn't been a deal breaker at all for me at this point but there's been times where I wish I could push the size of the supports a little bit lower. Ever since getting the new tilt motor installed, my printing failures are pretty minimal with using either the SolusWax or B9.

Casting:
I would say there's really no difference in the quality of the castings we get out of either resin. Both Cast great for us. At least with out shop, we did notice more casting shrinkage in the beginning using the Solus Wax vs the B9 resins. With rings we'd find the Soluswax came in about a half-size under the target ring size vs a quarter size under the target size with the b9 after casting and cleanup.

Would say both resin's are great choices, but since I'm about out of my Soluswax, looks like I''ll return back and finish off the rest of the b9 green I have left until there's more Soluswax to be purchased.

I totally agree with the support size , I think its probably a softer resin because of the wax and therefor need thicker supports , I too wish those could be smaller but dont think that will happen .

and also agree that the shrinkage was a big deal because not only the finger sz was way off but the stones sizes too .Then not sticking well to the build plate was difficult even with the gel when you had a full table to build .

I like the quick ramp speed that the SW has thow compared to the green and also feel that the detail are good on both resins . Im also waiting for a new formula to be made to address these things because I will buy some again
