Here is the Family Crest signet I sculpted for a client and the grow from my Solus and the finised ring. The detail held up very nicely.

That's seriously cool, Tom! You applied the texture on the inside afterwards or was that on the print?

The stippling looks like it was added after the fact. Very nice cast and excellent detail on the coat of arms!

I did the stippling texture after the ring was finished. It never comes out the way I like it just putting it in the model.

You can do it by hand with a sharpened carbide tool or a diamond tipped tool and just 'punch' the surface, which will take a while. If you have an air-driven graver like the GraverMax or others, you can use the hammer motion to do it quite easily.

Another way I have made that surface was using a very small round bur on the flex shaft to just 'skid' it around the surface to create the variable surface. Not as nice as the carbide or diamond tool, but works in a pinch.
