Printcast

Postby printcast » Sat Aug 05, 2017 10:26 pm

I've been making very good prints and cast for awhile but haven't been posting anything. These prints are incredibly smooth. You can see these are contoured areas that you would expect to see some sort of layer lines but there is absolutely no indication these were layer prints. They are absolutely perfectly smooth. You could spend tens of thousands on a printer and get no better results than this.

The pic with just the shank is a different ring than the other pics from the setting ring but I wanted to show the shank is so smooth it could have been carved and polished wax .

Nice and smooth.
What resolution did you use to print the rings?

Thanks for sharing.

These are 48x27 layered at 20. I've also used 80x45 with great results but unless a larger window scene is needed I always use the highest resolution.

Side note. You should be able to click to open these prints in a new window and then zoom into that pics. Do it. You will not see one layer line. These are completely smooth.

BTW I came form the B9 1.2 machine. That machine did not come anywhere close to this level of smoothness, sharpness, or crispness. That machine was a complete headache. PDMS is a joke. By the time you do all your test prints on new PDMS coating it had already clouded and needing to be replaced.
