That feature makes no sense unless you're printing one item at a time. What if you have different types of items, and don't want such thicknesses on specific models? Seems like they didn't think it through. Maybe can only work for the bases and bottom of supports until you reach the models.

Loving the auto support generation. Is there no need for a larger base support at the bottom of the ring anymore? are just the little fine supports okay?

No need, but you can make them 8mm in diameter if you want. In the future update we may add a blending raft system that attaches all the supports together.

This is something I want to try in the future.

I actually see a lot of usefulness to the feature. It wont be limited to one item at a time but rather one item type at a time. Lets say you have a ring that has a simple plain shank design but a complicated design around the stone setting and prongs. If one was to use a full platform of the same rings (lets say 8) then, in practice, he would be able to print the shank at a speedier 50 micron layer yet still have the precision of the 25 microns for the top of the rings. This would cut the print time while without showing a noticeable difference in print quality.

Or as you said a one off item. I can definitely put that feature to good use.

I updated and tried the auto support function with a complex ring.
But the program crashed when I was reviewing the sliced images at the very last step before starting to print. (Twice!)
The function itself looks pretty solid when the manual support function is used mutually even if there is a bug or something right now.
Great forward!!

Hi,

Can you send me the crash dump?

I'm guessing it's a memory issue...what quality did you select for the model and support mesh?

The quality was high. I will send you the crash dump if I can find it.

Thank you!!
