just a guess, based on what Iv seen , that looks to me as too high a temp. in the burnout cycle or too long a time at the high temp , Also the only other thing I think it could be is that your guy is using boric acid water and that sometimes happens when you use that , however castings usually come out cleaner with the borci water , that's a heavy ring and he probably held it at the high temp longer because of the amount of resin that ring has , I would say overall its a good casting for a ring of that weight , most important thing is what Emil said , the lettering is good , except for only one spot , most of the time its way worse than that , if your not happy , try casting it again , maybe it will come out better , but I tell you , that's not that bad of a job for what that is , expect to do some metal work on this ring even if you recast
