Rinse Out Resin Settings?

Postby ken3dcad » Thu Jul 09, 2015 3:15 pm

Has anyone tried the rinse out resin from Bucktown yet?
I tried it yesterday using the cherry settings and it just made a gooey mess. I assume it needs a longer exposure time than the cherry.
If anyone has any recommendations, please post them.

I'm not even going to open the bottle and will ask for a refund. Another user tried it with terrible results. He said they told him you can't even use alcohol to wash the prints. You need to use a paper towel to clean it. And need to cast right away because the moisture in the air affects its integrity. It's a messy waste of time.

If you want to test it. Try higher exposure. How did the base look? Cured? That's 18s right there.

I just heard about the reify 3D machine and am very interested. I understand that many types of resin are compatible; what are people using for lost wax casting? How much fussing, adjusting, and maintenance is required? Is support and technical available? Thanks, appreciate any input.

Thanks Monger... Looks like I just wasted my money. Opened it and I seriously doubt I will be able to get a refund. The stuff was very watery out of the bottle and made a gooey mess. Even the base layers weren't cured. It was like a sticky gummy bear. I had to rub it off the plate and then use a scotchbrite pad to remove what was left of the sticky mess.
Live and learn.

Hi Malcolm and welcome. Many people are using the b9 cherry resin for its castability. A few envisiontec resins will work also, such as ec500 and wic100. Madesolid castable resin and 3d materials castable look promising also.

The Solus requires very minimal maintenance and after the initial setup there is rarely any fuss. It's a very easy to use and very capable machine. We offer email support and forum support. We are already getting some users who are becoming experts and they are ready to help also.

Thank you for the response and info Monger, appreciate it. Who is it I should contact about purchasing a machine and other specs for setting this up? I'm assuming you are the tech and I will want to speak to a salesperson? Thank you!
