Hello Everyone,
I found this on a search ,wondered if anyone has seen this before. http://bucktownpolymers.com/ror00.html
Rinses out of investment using hot water!
...
No burn out or melt out!
ROR (Rinse Out Resin) allows for higher pattern resolution, intricacy and better finishes than other materials. Since the water rinse out replaces the burn out cycle, it eliminates the problems of patterns made from other materials due to leftover ash or polymer expansion.
Investment casters can benefit from the ease of casting ROR and the tenfold reduction in the time to create a casting.

I poured out my bottle into a painter's tray full of cat litter and exposed it all in the sunlight until it was cured and disposed it in a double-bag to the garbage.
What a waste of money that was. I hope Bucktown has decided to permanently shelve that formulation.

Re: Rinse Out Resin (ROR) ?????
i cant find the old post, can you explain why its no good? i would love something like this for my purposes...i use my printers and cnc for casting but not metal, i use them for creating molds to cast in resin...sometimes i cast in pewter..anyway, i have no oven for burnouts but sometimes i have a project that i would love to cast in resin but the structure wont work for a 2 part mold.
is there a product on the market that works in the solus but burns out at a much lower temperature, like something i could burn out in a regular oven?

Re: Rinse Out Resin (ROR) ?????
Hmmm... how do I explain it....
The resin is two part. The clear resin and a dye, with I assume some sort of UV blocker in it.
Try to expose the clear resin by itself, it is very fast, very messy and very sticky. Extremely caustic to some types of acrylic.
Add dye to try to slow it down. Still very sticky, very flimsy, get some definition, but nothing like the resins mentioned on this forum. Looks like blobs.
Try to dissolve it in hot water? All you get is a white blob of polymer, it never really dissolved. It is sticky/goopy and contaminates everything it touches.
I have never heard of anyone on any forum having success with this chemical nightmare. When I asked for a refund, Bucktown stopped answering my emails. Pretty much gave me the one finger salute and that was it. I should have filed a PayPal claim against them, but I didn't.
I hope that helps.

Never even opened the bottle. Tried to get a refund and got the same silent treatment.
