Test "square"

Postby Just Bob » Wed May 11, 2016 2:46 pm

Not been happy with the prints. Detail not there.
Did a 10mm square for test print. Checked grid cal/fresh juice...

I'm guessing my support is not adequate??? bottom layers separated.

SLIGHT curve at top of cube
Dimensions are off, too. off enough for small milgrain.

Maker Juice
.025
1900
15000

Suggestions?

This is MakerJuice? SF?

You need more supports under the base. You can adjust the XY dimensions with the adjust button found on the Configure Page page in the Build Area box.

Just MJ

So...what's the concept in adjusting the XY?
Are you talking about in the 3D View screen, then SCALE % and adjust?????

Don't see anything in Configure tab except "MAchine controls" and the XY box unchecked.

CONFUSED :?

Sorry, this is ALL NEW TO ME!

That MJ resin has a lot of shrinkage and you'll need to add a ton of pigment to get it to hold details. The extra pigment will cause other problems though.

The adjust button is on the Configure -> Configure Machine page:

Bob,

Project that square onto a piece of paper placed on top of the quartz and measure it. Make sure you're getting a perfect 10x10 square first.

Hey Bob try printing the cube standing on one corner with one large support 3mm. Or try printing it flat. Large flat surfaces need to be offset to get a great print. I also think that you will not get the sharp detail with the MJ resin. Just the nature of the beast. The cube below has 8 supports on the bottom. Mark
