Re: SolusCast: Cracks in heavy model
hello Everyone,
here is 2nd door SC resin 9 hours under water curing in 405nm, before i move in investment would like to show if need changes let me know i'll change.....i had print 3rd door but would wait what result comes out.
will use SRS cadcast investment 40/100 bçoz of tiny details ...without boric powder.
@ Sochin you thoughts r correct on filling wax back side of door......regarding for slice before printing its good, for ring or etc i have to ask my cad designer as i don't use CAD.
i'll show image of wax/resin pieces after casting n while cut from tree and spur mostly holes comes, had to fill with silver solder...
suggestion are welcome i'm just 6-7 months experience in vacuum casting.

I would have run some feeds to the middle window also. When metal has to make sharp corners it can cause problems.

Hi Dipen,
You will get away with using far less supports if you print that on an angle. It appears from your earlier photos that you are printing it flat.
To reduce clean up on the back further, especially of you decide to run metal to the centre part with the thin portion, have your cad designer add small neat extrusions to your model where you want to sprue. This will allow for neater/easier/quicker attachment of your sprues with wax away from the door.
That and printing on an angle with less supports will reduce your clean up time.
cheers,
Sochin

hi,
i'm very slow in posting, this week most likely will post result for door casting i have added feeds as told by Mr.Jewelermdt....
attached image for angle door....why i avoid printing angle bçoz i always get bad lines marks and it pulls on Z side so door it would not look perfect....i have ajusted many many time scale ajustments still for titled (angle parts dont grow nicely).

If you fully cure your door with all the supports, use a separating disk to cut them off. Or wire clippers. You can then sand them down for a smooth finish.
