Casting green with normal procedure

Postby wawatobi » Fri Jul 07, 2017 12:23 pm

I've had good results with the quick ramp to 800 degrees then 1500 and back to casting temp. However, I've more substandard results than I can afford the time to clean them up. I've gone back to my old casting schedule with more consistent results.
I use a toaster oven at 280 for two hours or more to eliminate the sprue wax. Then 350 one hour, 700 one hour, 900 one hour, 1200 one hour, 1350 for 2.75 hours and then down to casting temp. All temp changes at full ramp. I very, very fully cure the
prints before casting. I have a 20 watt light which I us for two hours per side then as much as twentyfour hours in the nail curer. I use plasticast and well water. By the way, I tried the 50/50 maker juice and emerald, great model but very crappy casts. I'm sticking with the emerald until something really great comes along.
Cheers, Robert

yes for now the emerald is the way to go. I haven't found anything else yet that casts as good. Nice casts
