Hey Everybody,
I'm waiting my solus to arrive, in a mean time is there anyone who could recommend small budget casting set up, or a casting set you guys use to cast resins?
Thanks, Dovydas
Recommended Casting Set Up
Re: Recommended Casting Set Up
What metals do you plan to use for your casting and how many pieces do you plan to cast at any given time?
Are you starting completely from scratch? Do you have a kiln/oven?

Re: Recommended Casting Set Up
When I quit my job, I planning to cast at least 2-3 times a week. I starting completely from scratch My budgets would be no more than £10K. I want to cast brass, bronze and silver jewellery mainly (80 -100 rings a week) and small quantities of gold (1-2 rings in gold).
I'm based in UK and that doesn't help when you looking for affordable set up.
I'm thinking about getting this.

Does any of you knows good place where to buy investment "plasticast" metals brass, bronse, silver grain for casting in UK, or Europe?
Thanks,

Re: Recommended Casting Set Up
I'll have to see if I have any. Most of what I have are finished pieces. I'm guessing you want a picture of casted piece right out of the flask. Will be casting this weekend.
Re: Recommended Casting Set Up
Yes I'm interested how raw cast is looking. Do you cast any brass or bronze? What is the size of your trees?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Recommended Casting Set Up
if you're doing molds, i'd use RTV. RTV doesn't have as much shrinkage as rubber.
i get my RTV from polytek.com
as cast parts will be as good as the print. you can see the print lines in my castings... the only thing that will make castings not look "right" will be if you didn't invest properly or your burnout is insufficient.
