Re: First Time Casting

I ended up reading almost every single thread in this casting forum and read that I should be burning out the flasks button up.... I had previously burned them out button down (woops) One thing I am unsure about is if you start them button down to let the wax sprues melt out (for the 150c soak) the...

Re: Service Manual

The normal user manual won't tell you how to change the DMD inside the projector. ;)

Re: pics of soluswax casting 1

Nice job! It is always great to see the wax and then the cast output. Seeing it finished is an added bonus!

The ramping straight from 80F to 1450F in 1.5hrs was too fast?? for a flask of 2.5 in x 2.5 in, (just one ladies ring) that was sitting for 1.5 hrs after investing with ultravest maxx 38:100 What is a good time for reach the 1450F? I run Prestige Optima at 1000°F/hour ramp time up to 1450°F and ...

Re: So what is up with SolusWax Pro?

as far as the white setting of the resin , I use a cheap 10.00 hairdryer , I hold the vat in one hand , then blow med hot air from the bottom , that white film is the wax , it melts and then very easy to mix into the resin without stretching the film after that , I also leave the resin in the vat f...

Re: Introducing the SolusProto Resin!

If your shrinkage is uniform across one or more axes, you can scale the object before printing to compensate for the shrinkage. What specific percentage you need to calculate from the ring size you want and the ring size you get.

What I find in real life is that not all axes shrink equally. :P

Re: Faulty Resin VAT/Tray?

I had some nasty resin on a different brand DLP printer with an acrylic vat that actually started to soften the acrylic and even start to 'melt' in places. I thought there was some talk on cast versus extruded acrylic resistance to IPA, but the damage sometimes doesn't show up for a while after the ...

Re: So what is up with SolusWax Pro?

For my second cast I tried the quick ramp to 1450. Cast well but they were only light pieces. The Kevvox LC200 liked a quick burnout as well but I could never get it to work with heavier objects. Will see how the SolusWax Pro goes with heavier items soon. I think the directions said to extend the b...
