Re: So what is up with SolusWax Pro?

Has anyone ran into the issue of the SolusWax Pro sticking to the film during disuse and if so how long did it take for the resin to separate and stick? I've noticed when it is sitting around for a few days there is a settling of some of the resin on the film. It is almost a translucent white color...

Re: So what is up with SolusWax Pro?

It isn't waxy enough to steam dewax. I just did it to get the sprue out so I didn't have to worry about the dripping wax burning out inside my kiln. There was a one sheet that came with the bottle I bought from Monger. Check with him to see if he can send you a PDF or let me know and I will scan it ...

Re: So what is up with SolusWax Pro?

Good to hear from you Sochin! Glad you had a good experience with the SolusWax Pro. I've been using it and other than some support failures as I play with the settings and some non-uniformity of my projector lamp across the whole 80x45 build space, I've had good luck with the resin. My last casting ...

Re: Missing chunks in every print

If you haven't upped the exposure like many have recommended, that is what I would do. As the bulb ages in the projector, the light fall off is not necessarily uniform across the entire build area so you might start to see localized areas that fail more often than others. Depending on the bulb techn...

Re: So what is up with SolusWax Pro?

Does SolusWax Pro have the same restrictions for supports, etc. as mentioned in the "SolusWax Tips and Tricks" pinned thread? So far I've had good luck with it, using 0.4 standard support tips to anchor my prints to the plate. I did try using the sphere tips with a thicker (0.6) attachment...

What oven do you use and are you injecting air into the chamber? Are you using the recommended burnout schedule for Plasticast?

The quality of those castings is amazing. I gotta go back and read up on your methods/techniques. ;-)

Re: How to enable STL file thumbnails in Windows File Explorer

It depends on how the renderer sets the camera position relative to the XYZ coordinates of your model.

I think I'd prefer third-person to a first-person view anyway. Can't really see much if you look at it from the objects point of view. ;-)

Re: Prestige Optima and Boric Acid

Thanks Sochin for the info. I read online about someone who used 1% by investment weight, but they didn't say if they dissolved it in the water or not. I mixed it with the powder and then mixed it with my water. Everything looked fine for the first 5 minutes, then it started getting a little thick a...
